A Little More About Baranova 27...
Founded by Val & Maksim Chmerkovskiy from Dancing with the Stars, and their father Sasha
Baranova 27 was started after the outbreak of the Invasion of Ukraine by Val and Maksim Chmerkovskiy and their father Sasha to provide humanitarian aid for Ukraine. Val and Maksim are best known from Dancing with the Stars.
The name itself, Baranova 27, is the street address where they family lived in Odesssa, Ukraine before moving to Brooklyn, NY in 1994.
Operating out of a warehouse in Fort Lee, NJ, the organization has been 100% volunteer driven, with people from around the country and world donating through an Amazon Registry for items that are needed in Ukraine, through a GoFundMe campaign to pay for shipping costs, and with their time by helping in the warehouse to unbox, sort, and rebox items to ship to Poland by plane, and then to Ukraine by truck.
